we piled into the car and headed to idaho for some quality time with the Geddes crew.

although Jordan walking was a proud moment, the highlight of the trip was heading to the local hogi yogi where erin rented the loft - complete with a giant projection screen, an xbox and ...

then on Monday we headed up the canyon to sit round the fire, roast mallows, and tell bad jokes with the Nevins.

and although i have a boat load of bad jokes stashed in my back pocket, the one that had me chuckling on the way home was told by my bro Matt. i think what made it most funny was the delivery, so picture him saying it.

28 and looking great

Happy Birthday Dan-o!
sure he had more hair when i met him, and he's put on a few lbs, but i knew what he was when i picked him up. and i was happy to do so.
and so yesterday we rejoiced that he became a part of the world.
i'm all for the day-long (if not week-long) celebrations and firmly believe no one should work on their birthday. Unfortunately, Dan doesn't share that belief. But we went to Wingers after work - his choice, i'm feeling the effects this morning, uhg! - and he gleefully pointed out the over-sized banner above the entrance that read: "all you can eat wings $9.99."
it's like they knew he was coming.

after downing about 30 wings, (man i wish i had taken a picture!) we came home for some cake. then he x-boxed the night away while i slept on the couch for moral support. PARTAY!!

now let us all laugh at a 'dan moment'

for a past New Year's Eve, we were playing board games at a friend's rented house. i am AWESOME at pictionary, so i can only assume that my not guessing his drawings was entirely his fault. at any rate, he struggled with repetitious sketches becoming more exasperated and his relationship with the notepad more deliberately violent until the last grain of sand dropped in the plastic hourglass. in frustration, he jumped up and hurled the pencil across the room. it stuck, straight as an arrow, with it's point firmly embedded in the wall. there was a brief moment of silence/awe as we stared at the pencil. perhaps we should have played darts instead?

now we're off to Idaho to see Jordan graduate.

We played tennis, softball, went bowling, played football (just 500) and he ALWAYS won. But then he is very competitive. And he's great at changing light fixtures. :)

this was a couple of years ago. my fam reminded me of it. it was just dan and some guy messing around at work but you can actually pinpoint the moment (about sec. 12) where it is no longer funny to him and he feels the need to pull out his old high school wrestling moves. make sure to pay attention all the way through and see if you can't spot dan's last act of anger. HA!

dan decided to take the week off work. he told me that he was in charge of the boys and i could do whatever i wanted.
i think he's a pretty cool husband and i thought i would take a quick moment to let all of you know why...

*dan is a comic book nerd.

*he makes me laugh

*he always tries to rough house with the boys just before bed

*he calls me attractive when it's 2pm, i'm unshowered, in sweats, and have yesterdays mascara smeared under my eyes

*he's been doing the dishes ever since my first pregnancy nausea

*he turns everything I say into an innuendo and it never makes sense
(i.e. me-I'm making soup for dinner.
him-I'll make your soup for dinner.)

*he willingly got a parking ticket on our first date, a byu game, because he didn't want to miss kickoff.

Holla-ween!

I got that from Hil. Here is the scoop on our Halloween madness. We had a big ole party for fun, young people such as ourselves. Everyone was too cute and dressed up. (Aimee gets a pass for being Super Mom, having a hurt foot and changing Caden's diaper as soon as she got there.) Obviously we were 'The Cat in the Hat.' I'm 'Mother'- some people didn't get that part. I made all our costumes and most of decorations and I set out the food. But all my frantic planning did not go to waste. A party is only as good as the people who come to it and I would like to thank everyone for making my night! {Check out the slide show!}
For Halloween we went to both sets of Grandparent just to remind them how cute their Grandsons are. It was a lot of fun! We ate too much candy and stayed up too late. Perfection!
